A free weekend-long celebration for the whole community, packed with live entertainment, family activities, music, food, games, and festival fun in the heart of Workington.
This year’s core theme invites the community to take part in a massive fancy-dress spectacular, creating a highly colourful, imaginative atmosphere.
The entire layout of the park is shaped by a 10-person Creative Steering Group of local residents to ensure the event directly reflects what Workington locals want to see.
The Main Stage features a packed line-up of regional and local musical talent.
The Northern Soul Space (Saturday only) is a dedicated area celebrating the region’s rich musical roots with active DJ sets, open dancing, and interactive workshops.
The Renaissance Fair Tent (Sunday only) is a sub-camp offering historical-inspired, immersive activities and experiences.
Free Creative Workshops feature open graffiti workshops with Beardy Synergy, face painting by Grays Arts, and hands-on crafts.
The park will be lined with a high-quality local market, a fun fair, and numerous food and drink stalls.
As a major companion addition to the weekend, Oddsocks Productions hosts free, open-air evening theatre performances in the park at 7pm on Friday 3 July and Saturday 4 July. They will be performing a highly energetic, comedic, and interactive take on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnic blankets and enjoy the performance under the open sky.
The event runs from 11am to 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
