The Woolpack Inn

A welcoming blend of historical charm, rustic comfort, and stunning natural beauty.

The Woolpack Inn is a traditional 16th Century iconic Lake District Inny. We are a great base for a relaxing getaway, outdoor adventures, or a taste of local culture. The Woolpack Inn is set in the heart of the Lake District near the Western Coast, the best of both worlds with England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike and deepest lake with the best view in Britain, Wastwater, on our doorstep as well as a beautiful coastline which nestles St Bees village the start of the Coast to Coast Challenge. Not enough hours in one day to see all that the West Coast offers! The Woolpack Inn has comfortable en suite rooms, a self-catering wooden chalet and a seasonal motorhome overnight-stay field all of which are dog friendly.

Facilities

The Woolpack Inn

The Hardknott Bar & Café boasts 2 authentic wood burning ovens that are used to smoke local farm meat and fish as well as cook delicious Stone Baked Pizzas! We also serve a traditional Cumbrian fayre using local produce. The Woolpack Inn waves a big flag for the Herdwick sheep that graze the fells to make our famous Cumbrian Tatie Pot! All our food can be enjoyed in front of our welcoming Log Burners and when the weather permits, outside enjoying the stunning views of the Lake District fells which harbour the infamous Hardknott Pass. The Woolpack Inn were lucky to host the presenters and crew of Countryfile when they filmed the challenging drive over the passes, navigating the hairpin bends and steep inclines – using the Woolpack Inn for bite to eat whilst taking advantage of the electric vehicle charge – you may have seen us on the Telly!! Dog friendly, car charging. Near the highest Mountain, the deepest Lake and the beautiful coastline.
